Promanade!

After being asked by THE Zach Thompson to go to prom, I was very excited to go! I believe it was in April 12th and it was a time to remember. In the afternoon I went into Cody and got my hair done. I ended up running a little late to go back home and finish getting ready. I rushed home and when I got home I started doing my makeup. I wanted everything to be perfect. And let me tell you, it was not. I was already late and my make up was not working! I wanted to do a smoky eye but turns out I am a tad too white to white to make a black/grey smoky eye look good on me. I tried to take it off but it kept smudging. I finally told myself and just had to deal with it. It was about 10 minutes till I had to leave and I forgot to cut the bottom of my dress cause it was too long! I got my dress out, hung it up on my door and began to cut it. It was not straight nor did I care at the time. After cutting my dress I still had to put on a cute outfit for dinner. Picking out a cute outfit, takes time. Everything has to go together and look good. I don't even remember what I wore because I was so scrambled. Zach came to the door and I was still trying to get everything together. We rushed out the door and told my parents to be at his house in an hour and a half to take pictures. He picks me up in his dads huge black ford and we head out to his house. Our friend couple, Billy and Sydnee, were the other couple we went to prom with. We had dinner at Zach's house and we had lucky burgers. They were so delicious! After dinner we all got ready, and us girls surprisingly took a quicker time to get ready. All we had to do was put our dresses and heals on. We went down stairs to check on the guys, and Billy's rented tux didn't really fit him... We all laughed and tried to help the best we could so the tux didn't look too small. My showed up and we began to take pictures. It was fun and we got a lot of great pictures! We got to prom and we were one of the firsts ones there and we weren't even early. We got our pictures done there as well and waited for more people to get there. Once majority of the people got there we stayed for about an hour and a half. Billy and Sydnee left about 30 minutes earlier because Sydnee had the flu. We went home and got in sweats and just chilled and watched movies. Prom was a time to remember!

The Cabin Weekend

It was a week before Zach was leaving to Chadron, Nebraska for college. He has a wrestling scholarship over there, because he is amazingly good at wrestling! We went up with his family to his cabin in Idaho and spent a couple of nights there! On the way there, Zach and I got pulled over in Yellowstone because I was leaning over towards Zach and the officer thought I didn't have my seat belt on! This had been the 2nd time I've gotten pulled over with Zach!
The first day there we went into Driggs, Idaho so Syd (his dad) could buy a pontoon. After he had bought it, we went into town to eat some lunch, we went to this barbeque restaurant that was very good! If I could remember the name I would totally recommend it! It had a burger challenge and Zach was all for it! Food challenges are his favorite! He had to eat a two one pound patties with two huge hamburger puns, including a basket of fries. The burger was so well-done, it was hard for Zach to chew! He completed the challenge but towards the end Zach would hand me the veggies from his burger or pieces of his burger to throw on the floor! We went back to the cabin and took a little rest and then went for just a little four wheeler ride! Lucky it wasn't muddy! But the next day it had rained and we all decided to go four wheeling, bad decision to let me drive one of them! We started going up this big hill and of course I got stuck! Syd had to help me up the hill, kind of embarrassing! Zach and I went of riding as Syd, Kim and the girls drove off somewhere else. As Zach and I were driving we approached another hill and Zach told me I had to gun it. Wellll I gunned it a little too close to Zach and I got covered, I mean COVERED in mud! from head to toe, in my hair to in my shoes. It also covered the entire four wheeler as well. As Zach was spitting mud back at me, I held the break and waited for Zach to get up the hill, he came back for me not realizing what he ad done, and once he saw me he couldn't stop laughing. He apologized but laughed as he did it. It was hilarious but a little discomforting being covered in mud. We rode around and tried to find our way back when we found Syd! We followed him down the big muddy hill where I got stuck AGAIN. Me, mud, and four wheelers do not mix well. We rode back to the cabin and I got to take a lovely shower to get all the mud off of me.
The day after we went boating and it was a beautiful day! Zach and I went tubing first and Syd did not go easy on us! my hands were cramping because of the grip I had to stay on the tube! The only time Syd got us to flip the tube, we flew in the air and coming down Zach's foot smacked my head, I had a headache and a goose egg the rest of the day. The whole time I was there it was so much fun to bond with his family and to spend more time with them than I already do ;) We went on many four wheeler rides, hiked, roasted marshmallows, boated, and watched movies at night, It was the perfect end to a perfect summer!

July 4th weekend

July 4th was a memorable weekend! July 3rd is the day the road tripped started. Zach got off work around 2, which gave me about an hour to pack, which is so hectic for a girl to pack! Especially for a weekend with his whole family, I go to make myself look good! Our plan was to leave Powell by 3:30, Zach, his dad Sid, and I. Buuuut Sid got a call for a death in Cody and so Zach and I had to wait for 3 HOURS for his dad. Oh Sid. Oh Sid. Well Sid finally got home and Zach and I loaded up the guns as Sid packed. We head out and of course we had to take another stop in Cody for Sid to buy ammo. I completely blame Sid for how late we were;) We finally drive off to Idaho Falls. Before we even got into Yellowstone, Sid started complaining how it was so hot in the back seat. Zach and I looked at each other as if... well Sid was our kid. Now both Zach and I love Sid don't get us wrong, but him and I were just a tad grumpy. We arrived in Idaho Falls at Zach's grandparents house, with Zach almost killing us once. We unloaded our luggage and figured out where we are going to sleep, Zach's cousin and his girlfriend and Zach and I went to get a Redbox movie and dinner. We couldn't find a maverick anywhere so we thought our next best chance would be Wal-mart. We goofed around in Wal-mart looking for food to eat and got our movie. We didn't want any food there so we thought we would go to a fast food joint. But of course the night before the 4th of July everything was closed. Well except for Burger King! It was nasty but at the time it was delicious! We went back to the house and watched the movie. After the movie we got up and everyone went to bed. The next morning we woke up and it was the 4th of July and we had a big day ahead of us! After breakfast we headed over to a parade which was super fun. I met the rest Zach's family. We went to Pizza CafĂ©, took a nap, went to sonic to get a slushy, and tried to eat dinner after a buffet of pizza at lunch. We went to a firework show which was so much fun! we played around in a park with your whole family and got to watch fireworks when it got more dark! After the show we went back to the house and decided to pull an all nighter and play Mario kart. We successfully did that till 5 in the morning. We got yelled at a few times for being a tad too loud.. Mario Kart is to be taken serious though ;) We had to wake up 3 hours later for Zach's cousins, Alerga's baptism. It was an exhausting day and there were quite a lot of naps in between everything we did. We shouldn't have stayed up till 5, how dumb! The next day was our last day and Zach and I went on a mini date before we left Idaho Falls. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings which is my favorite restaurant. Zach is so sweet to take me out before we had to drive 6 hours!

It was a memorable weekend and the first trip with Zach and meeting his family. I will never ever forget this weekend!

Our first month

So far Zach and I have been dating one month. It has been a really great time! Honestly better than I expected. Zach was a sweetheart. He always opened his car door or any door for me and he always put his needs before mine. It was a week before our one month and Zach was down in Houston, Texas boar hunting and shark hunting. Zach and I had a bet that he would not catch a shark. I bet him $10 he wouldn't catch one and he bet $10 he would. Unfortunately Zach did catch a shark! It was adorable how excited he was that he caught one. (Still to this day, I have not payed him his $10).

It was our one month (April 25th) and Zach has gotten his wisdom teeth out the day before. The swelling in cheeks did not go down. I was going on a date with a cute swollen chipmunk. He picked me up at my house, which is not close to town) and he had brought me a rose and chocolate. I gave him a big hunk and a drink and wrote on a piece of paper "Thanks for being my hunk." We got in his dad's truck and we drove over to El Tap in town. It's a small Mexican restaurant with very good food. We were there for about an hour and we went over to his house and watched anchorman 2 super sized addition. It sounds like a plain date but it's never boring when I'm with Zach. He's always cracking jokes and making me giggle. It was only a month but it had been a great month so far!

Who Asked Who Out?

After Zach had asked me out on our first date, we hung out quite a bit. We mostly went on double dates and watched movies. I was having a bad week and Zach didn't like how mood swingy and grumpy I was. We pulled into the school parking lot and he text me and told me to meet him at his car, I was so nervous I ignored his text and kept walking into school with my friends. That wasn't okay with Zach, so he got out of his car, yelled my name and ran over to me and brought me a Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar. Milk chocolate bar filled with caramel. My favorite! He taped a note to it, and it was so adorable. (Its attached below) He is just the sweetest! I was so nervous to open and read the letter that I went to all my friends and was freaking out. My friends Josie told me to just open and so I did. It put me in the best mood the rest of the day.
Zach didn't come to school one day but he decided to bring me lunch to school. He brought me two cheese quesodillas and we sat in his car and talked. He slowly brought into conversation about him and I. This is his exact words, "So where do you think this is going?" (He thought that was asking me out) I told him I wanted to take it slow because I didn't want to rush anything after my past relationship and it not working out. He wasn't very happy about it and started calling me his "make-out buddy," and if I wanted to date him, I had to ask him out... I dealt with "make-out buddy" for about 3 days and I thought to myself that I would rather be known as his girlfriend than his make-out buddy. But I still wasn't sure what I wanted. It was March 24th, a Monday and after dance i went and hung out with Zach at Billy's. We hot tubbed and watched a movie and he made me so happy. But when I got home I felt uneasy about dating him. So I text him and was hoping he was asleep so he wouldn't get the text till morning but he wasn't. I just let him know I was uneasy about him and I and didn't know if I actually wanted it to go anywhere. He was super upset when he received the text and was not happy. He told me I had to make a decision by tomorrow or he was gonna be done with me. So the next day rolls around and I pull up to the seminary building and Zach was already there. He text me to go get in his car and talk and I text him back and said "Hold on I'm eating breakfast" I honestly was too nervous to go talk to him. After I ate I went into his car and we talked for a little bit, and we stopped talking for about 30 seconds and then I said "Zach will you go out with me?" Probably the lamest way to ask someone out but i didn't want to risk my chances at losing him because he was the sweetest guy I have ever met.
About two weeks after dating it was General Conference. Zach came all the way out to my house, 15 minutes away from his, and picked me up to watch it at his house. On our way back, we were heading into Ralston and we got pulled over! I couldn't stop laughing and Zach was freaking out. We come to find out that he got pulled over because the tint on his windows is illegal. It was a waste of 30 minutes. Anyways, Conference was wonderful as always and its when Zach and I took our first picture together as a couple!

The First Date

I kid you not the day after, we started snapchatting all the time. On the 29th of February Zach was at state wrestling. While he was there he bet me a kiss that he would win state. I took the bet because well... I knew he was going to win state. He snaps me after his big match and HE WON. I owed that boy a kiss. I have no idea what day it was but I went over to his house to pay him the debt I owed him. We watched a movie and he leaned over twice and asked me "Are you gonna kiss me now?" each time I replied "I don't know, when are you going to kiss me?" The second time I said that, Zach leaned in and kissed me!
After our first kiss he asked me out, This was his whole plan. That's what operation "Walking on Sunshine" was all about. To convince me to become single and then Zach ask me out on a date. And boy did it work. I was so nervous about the date, I hadn't been on a real one.. ever. He was the first guy to take me out on a dinner date, pick me up, and pay for me! It was March 8th and we went to the sushi restaurant in Cody with our other two friends who were in a relationship, Billy Baker and Sydney Neville. He picked me up, came to the door to get me, and opened his car door for me. We drove to Cody to meet Billy and Sydney. We waited for them to get there, and as we did Zach swung his arm around, meaning it to go to the head rest of the seat, and smacked my eye. He still managed to lean into to kiss me while I was telling him he had ruined the movement! I laughed for so long, I still laugh when I think about it. We went into the restaurant, got seated, and ate dinner. At the end of dinner we got fortune cookies, as always. I go to open mine up to read my fortune and it says "Ms. Day go to prom with me?" of course I said yes, I was so excited! He took me home, and he never let me touch a door handle or knob the whole time. It was the perfect first date.

The First Step

After the crush developed I didn't do much about it. But one day Zach invited me to go to lunch with him and his friends, of course I went and almost everyday after that I went to lunch with them. Him and his friends would give me advice about what I should do in my current relationship and I would vent and vent and vent. I also let the guys get to know me for me, they acted like a bunch of toughies but they supported me and wanted the best for me. One day we were all sitting in the library and Billy and Zach started talking about this operation hey had called "Walking on Sunshine" I kept asking them what the operation was about but they would never tell me. All I knew is the boys hinted at Zach asking me to prom, so I figured it was something about me. Everyday for about 3 weeks they tormented me to end my relationship with who I was with and to go for Zach. But I wasn't sure about it at all. Valentines day rolled around and there was a Powell Varsity basketball game and I had gone by myself to meet up with friends. As I was walking into the school I noticed Zach's 06 deep red Chevy Malibu pull into the parking lot. I kept walking in to meet my friends. I walked in and it was the end of the JV game and I went and sat with my friends Laura and Haley. I sat with them only until the Varsity game because they were both the managers. After they left to sit with the team I went and sat on the gym floor, next to the bleachers, one step below Zach. They game went on and we stood with our friends and we both talked for hours.
That was probably the second best part about this Valentines Day. My current boyfriend didn't get me everything or do anything special. I was honestly my last straw with him, but I figured there had to be an excuse.
At the end of the game I became so hungry. Zach was so sweet and offered to take me to Maverick and get me some food. Which was my favorite thing about that day. As him and I were walking out Laura and Haley were standing there and told me to kiss him. I couldn't because I was in a relationship but if I weren't in one, I would have taken every chance. We arrive at Maverick and I chose to get a Naked juice and a Snickers. And no Zach did not pay but he did drive me there which was still sweet! He took me back to the High School to drop me off at my car. Him and I Sat in his car and we talked about my relationship. I told him everything. How I was being hidden and not acknowledged at all. He told me I needed to end it but I didn't want to hurt anyone. I knew he was right but I stuck with it... For the next 4 days I kept replaying what Zach and I talked about that night and finally I got up the courage to end my relationship...
